There’s something wildly underrated about creating rituals that make your life feel softer.

Not in the “buy another expensive candle and call it self care” kind of way. I mean the kind of rituals that actually help you come back to yourself after a week of running on adrenaline, deadlines, mental load, and caffeine.

Because somewhere between business, motherhood, emails, school pickups, life admin, and trying to remember if you drank water today, I think a lot of women have forgotten what it feels like to properly reset.

Not escape.
Not numb out scrolling your phone.
Actually reset.

For me, Sunday became that space accidentally.

What started as a frantic “panic and prepare for Monday” slowly turned into something slower, calmer, and honestly one of the biggest shifts for both my nervous system and productivity.

Now it’s less about trying to get everything done and more about creating a week that feels good to live in.

Here’s what my Sunday reset ritual actually looks like these days.

The house reset

I swear visual chaos impacts my mood more than I’d like to admit.

So Sundays usually start with opening every window in the house, putting on a playlist, washing sheets, lighting something that smells grounding, and telling myself I’ll “just do one load of washing” before inevitably ending up knee deep in a full house reset.

Benches wiped.
Jars refilled.
Floors vacuumed.
Sometimes even pressure hosing the driveway if the ADHD energy kicks in hard enough.

Not because I’m trying to become a perfect homemaker.

Because future me deserves to wake up Monday morning without overwhelm smacking her in the face before 8am.

I’ve also slowly swapped a lot of our cleaning products for lower tox alternatives over the years. Less synthetic fragrance, less harsh chemicals, more simple ingredients that actually feel good to use. Tiny shifts, but they change the whole energy of a home.

A proper nervous system drink

There was a time I’d drink coffee on an empty stomach and then act shocked when I felt anxious and overstimulated by 10am.

Now Sundays are slower.

Usually it’s tea outside in the sun for ten minutes while I pretend I’m the kind of woman who has her entire life together.

Lately it’s been our Little Wildling Co Minty Matcha on repeat because the ritual of making it is half the therapy.

Boiling the kettle.
Using the good mug.
Whisking it properly.
Actually sitting down while I drink it.

No multitasking.
No rushing.

Just one tiny moment where my body gets the message that we’re safe now.

And honestly? I think that’s what so many of us are craving.

The future self hour

This part changed everything for me.

Every Sunday I give myself one hour to make life easier for future me.

I check the calendar.
Loosely meal plan.
Order groceries.
Write priorities for the week.
Prep workouts.
Brain dump every little thing making my brain feel noisy.

It sounds painfully boring.

It is genuinely life changing.

Because anxiety absolutely thrives in disorganisation and mental clutter.

And the older I get, the more I realise feeling “well” often has less to do with doing more and more to do with creating systems that help your nervous system feel supported.

The everything shower era

Sunday nights have officially become my cliché “everything shower” ritual and honestly, I finally understand the hype.

Hair mask.
Dry body brushing.
Face mask.
Fresh sheets.
Herbal tea.
Phone on Do Not Disturb.

Tiny rituals that make my body feel cared for instead of rushed.

Because wellness isn’t perfection.

It’s not green juices and waking up at 5am and having your entire life colour coded.

It’s creating moments where your body feels safe enough to exhale.

And maybe that’s the real reset after all.
